Digital Media Students Win Second Place in Regional Skills USA TV/Video Production Competition - March 15, 2011
Digital Media seniors Serena Cassick from Lewiston-Porter and Mitchell Cochran from North Tonawanda placed second in the Area 1 Skills USA  TV/Video Production competition at SUNY Alfred. Students spent the day competing against other students in their areas of study from Alleghany, Steuben, Monroe, Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Cattaraugus and Ontario counties.



​Digital Media Student Places Second in PSA Competition - April 11, 2011

Video Production student Holly Norris took second place in the High School Division of the 2011 Niagara University Media Awareness Public Service Announcement Student Video Competition. Holly, a North Tonawanda student in the Digital Media Program, created a 60 second video public service announcement promoting “Media Literacy”. Her PSA focuses on the heavy amount of editing that happens with today's media. Her goal with the project is to make people aware of how easily the "truth" can manipulated with selective editing. Her winning entry was screened at the Annual Media Awareness Day in April at Niagara University. She also received a certificate and a cash award of $50.00.​

Digital Media Senior Wins Dr. Clark Godshall Scholarship - June 6, 2011

Serena Cassick from Lewiston Porter was recognized for her achievement in the Digital Media Program with the presentation of the Dr. Clark Godshall scholarship. Serena will be attending the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and majoring in Motion Pictures and Television.



​Legacy of Former Graphic Communications Student Honored with Scholarship - June 8, 2011

Digital Media student Holly Norris was the recipient of the first annual Matt Puchlerz Memorial Scholarship. The annual $1000 scholarship is designed for graduating seniors who plan to continue their education in the fields of web design or digital media arts. It was founded by the family of former NCTEC Graphic Communications student Matt Puchlerz, who passed away unexpectedly of Sudden Cardiac Death on September 1, 2010, at the age of 25.



Digital Media Student's PSA Recognized by National Anti-Drug Organization Natural High - December 20, 2011

Digital Media students often compete in video competitions as part of their coursework. This year students were assigned to make a two to five minute video PSA for the Natural High organization, which focuses on drug abuse prevention and is aimed at helping people find their natural high and reject drugs. Holly Norris decided to focus on her love of music. In her video, she demonstrated her talent on the piano, and explained why writing and playing music was her natural high. She won an Honorable Mention in the competition, and was flown to Natural High headquarters in La Jolla, California to perform at a fundraiser gala. Her PSA can be viewed here.
